I recently visited the beautiful little village of Castle Combe in the South West of England I was definitely spoilt with the gorgeous countryside scene. However, we are still very much in the midst of winter and it was chilly to say the least. Combining style and warmth in the country isn’t easy!
When exploring outside of our extravagant Manor House Hotel stay I needed to wrap up warm but wanted to blend in with the rest of the country folk mostly visiting for the weekend break away from the city life, all dressed very glamorous.
Luckily I had my trusty woollen coat from Yumi! It actually is super warm whilst looking ultra-chic with a stylish military feel. Skillfully designed, it features a button placket, wide lapels and a unique zip closure. I have layered it over my favourite outfits for a cosy wear.
I am a big fan of tan boots whether its short, mid or long length they can really finish an outfit. The colour is great for autumn and winter as it is warm and works well with light or dark colour bottoms.
Here I have put on my comfy jeans with a woollen black pullover to keep warm. This combination is flattering and is perfect for those smart/casual occasions.
I also added my nude coloured handbag from Lipsy which has a sweet bow detail on it with plenty of room for the necessities we need to keep on us at all times. And yes the lip balm was packed and room for the phone and wallet!
Throw in a gorgeous scarf and it really completes the outfit. I am a super fan of scarves. They come in so many varieties and with this outfit you can get away with a light scarf to wear inside and a warm thicker one to finish off the look for when you step outside.
My next look was for evening dining in a 5 star resort. I wanted to find a style that was chic yet sophisticated and through in a bit of comfort too. After all I was dining in a Michelin Star restaurant, I wanted to enjoy the food and have room for it, some outfits can be stunning but leave no space for you to eat!
I was fortunately (or unfortunately at times) blessed with curves, however finding dresses sometimes can be a nightmare. They can look fabulous on the hanger but on me they can emphasise areas I would rather they didn’t! I have fallen in love with this skater style dress. It gives a great impression of a smaller waist and floats out over the hips. (plus leaves room for food most importantly!)
During the winter months I add thicker denier black tights and shoes. The great thing about these style dresses is you can pop some flip-flops or sandals on and you have a perfect summer day dress too! I especially love the navy colour with the red detail! (shame about the wallpaper behind me but it can’t be perfect all the time!)
